Medical Billing Specialist - Women's Health Specialists of CA- Redding, CA

The purpose of this full or three quarter time position is to be responsible for the timely and accurate posting of charges and claims submission for health services provided by the health care clinic.

Medical Biller responsibilities:

• Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion
• Submit billing data to insurance providers
• Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided
• Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.
• Work with the Accounting Department to complete month end reconciliation process
• Understand external rules and regulations as they relate to healthcare billing and collections e.g. Medicaid, state laws, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), etc
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• 2+ years billing experience preferred
• Nextgen experience preferred
• Experience in reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOB) from various insurances
• Follow up on unpaid claims utilizing the CIF or Appeal processes as necessary.
• Experience using a 10-key.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office(Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes and ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM diagnoses codes, preferred
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
• Perform additional duties as assigned
