Women’s Health Specialists is outraged at the erosion of the rights of pregnant people throughout the country, criminalizing them for seeking abortions and for exercising their rights to full body sovereignty. Over the past 51 years, our community has stood with us as we provided comprehensive reproductive health services. Join us as we partner with Sign4ERA’s Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) Petition Campaign to demand protection of all U.S. citizens’ reproductive rights. We welcome all our community members, sign the petition beseeching Congress to formalize the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution. Driving the Vote for Equality is a 25-state national tour to secure Congressional recognition of the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment. Inspired by the 1916 suffrage drive of Alice Burke and Nell Richardson, the campaign deploys the restored Golden Flyer II — a replica of their original Saxon roadster — to collect one million petition signatures and demand that Congress act now. An initiative of ERA-NOW.org and Sign4ERA.org, led by former Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney.

Why sign for ERA? The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has already been passed by Congress and ratified by 38 states. The only step needed to enshrine the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is for Congress to now vote to place it in the Constitution.

Local ERA Champions!
To advance gender equality, women's rights, abortion rights, and LGBTQ+ rights, WHS continues working with ERA champions across the nation to secure the ERA as the 28th Amendment. Recognizing the interconnectedness of these rights and the unique challenges faced by rural communities, WHS engaged clients, conducted outreach, and provided education, culminating in the Mayor of Shasta Lake City, becoming one of the first to sign the ERA petition and stand for equal rights in rural California.
