Annual Exams - Free

If you have Medi-Cal, you can access Well Women services for free, without a referral, or authorization from your Primary Care Provider (PCP) or health plan.

You can come in to WHS and sign-up for Family PACT insurance for people without health insurance- even if you are not a US citizen.

Even if you are not due for a Pap test or mammogram, you should get your free well-woman visit every year.

What Makes Up An Exam?

Pap smears (test for cervical cancer) are recommended every 3 years. During a pap smear, a clinician uses a speculum to examine your cervix. It's recommended to start getting a pap smear at age 21.

It is common to have abnormal pap smear results. For more on abnormal results, and HPV, please visit here.

At WHS, you have the option of seeing what your cervix looks like. Many have found this educational and empowering. You can request to take your speculum home, for future self-exam.

Clinical Breast Exam and Mammogram Referrals are included. New mammogram guidelines recommend getting a mammogram annually, starting at age 45.
