Governor Signs Two Healthcare Bills Authored by Speaker Emeritus Toni Atkins
Speaker Emeritus Toni Atkins has long been a proponent of advancing women’s healthcare and assuring access to comprehensive healthcare for all. Last month Governor Brown signed into law 2 Atkins bills that reflect these goals: AB 635 assures state-funded medical interpretation services for Medi-Cal patients with limited English proficiency and AB 1795 helps more low-income Californians become eligible for state-covered breast cancer and cervical cancer screening and treatment.
