Redding’s MLK Celebration!

The Annual Dr. MLK Jr. Celebration Event is scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2026. The theme for 2026 is: Mission Possible: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way. This theme is more than a banner; it’s a blueprint for action. It guides our programming, fuels our outreach, and anchors our commitment to building the Beloved Community; a world where injustice ends, violence is replaced by compassion, and love becomes the prevailing force.

There will be a shuttle bus at 9:20am. from Sequoia to the Court House for those wishing to participate in the MLK March.

The Prayer Circle will be at 10:00am. at the Superior Court House at 1515 Court St, Redding, immediately followed by the MLK March to Sequoia Middle School.

The Bell Ringing Ceremony will be at 10:45 at the McLaughlin Auditorium, located at Sequoia Middle School, 1805 Sequoia Street, Redding.

This year’s Program will begin at 11:30am. in the auditorium.

Lunch will be served in the cafeteria by the Asphalt Cowboys from 12:30 to 2:00.
